Wildlife: Hluhluwe vs Kruger

White Rhino: Hluhluwe-iMfolozi wins decisively. The park holds the largest white rhino population of any game reserve in Africa — this is where white rhino were pulled back from the edge of extinction in the mid-20th century. Rhino sightings are more consistent and frequent than in Kruger, where the population has been significantly impacted by poaching.
Black Rhino: Both parks have black rhino. Hluhluwe-iMfolozi has a stronger black rhino conservation programme — sightings are rare in both, but Hluhluwe’s smaller size and dedicated tracking protocols improve encounter probability.
